Obedience and the Good Citizen Dog Scheme

Obedience and socialisation classes are held at our Swanage and Sandford venues with separate groups for puppies, intermediate and advanced categories. We include both indoor and outdoor training sessions, covering all aspects from basic puppy training to a more advanced curriculum for older and more experienced dogs and handlers.

We also include training leading to all levels of the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme awards, details of which can be seen on the Kennel Club website. The scheme is the largest dog training scheme in the UK. Its aim is to promote responsible dog ownership, and in turn, enhance our relationship with our pets and make the community aware of the benefits associated with dog ownership.

Training for Good Citizens

The scheme has four levels - puppy foundation, bronze, silver and gold - with certificate and rosette awards on successful completion of tests at the end of each training course.

Purbeck Agility Group enjoys Kennel Club listed status, allowing us to participate in training courses for these awards. In addition, two of our trainers are qualified with the Kennel Club to act as examiners.
